How reservations work
Valve's October 9 update gives existing reservation holders two estimated windows for their purchase email: by December 2026 or in 2027. Sign in to your own Steam account on the official Steam Frame product page to see which window applies to you. These are estimates for the opportunity to order, not shipping or delivery dates.
Valve expects to give the 2027 group a more detailed order estimate by January 2027. That does not mean everyone in that group can buy in January. Once Valve sends your purchase email, you have 72 hours to complete the order before it moves to the next person in line.
The waitlist remains open. New entries go to the end in signup order. Valve manages separate regional queues and draws from a region's waitlist only after reaching the end of that region's reservation queue. Movement in another region does not mean someone has passed you in your own queue. The December and 2027 estimates apply to reservation holders; they do not give waitlisted customers a purchase date.
For context, the original signup period opened September 14, the one-time draw took place September 17, and order fulfillment began September 18. There is no signup fee or obligation to buy. A reservation puts you in the purchase queue, with a separate purchase email to follow; a waitlist place awaits an opening in that queue.
Valve's program terms list the age, account, residency, and household restrictions. The original registration required participants to be at least 18, live in the US, Canada, UK, an EU member state, or Australia, and hold an unlimited Steam account in good standing with a purchase made before April 27, 2026. The limit is one product purchase per household; duplicate and automated registrations are void.
Community tracker status
Your reservation status comes from Valve
Use Valve's emails and your Steam account for your reservation, purchase, and shipment status. Community reports are separate observations, not your official place in line or a delivery promise.
Check the sender and open your Steam account directly if an email looks suspicious.

Kit prices by region
These are Valve's September 14 launch prices, including VAT where applicable. The program terms say applicable taxes and shipping costs depend on location; check your final checkout total.
| Currency / market | 256GB kit | 1TB kit |
|---|---|---|
| USD / United States | $1,059 | $1,299 |
| CAD / Canada | $1,529 | $1,859 |
| EUR / euro pricing | €1,049 | €1,279 |
| GBP / United Kingdom | £889 | £1,089 |
| AUD / Australia | $1,609 | $1,969 |
| PLN / Poland | 4,539 zł | 5,549 zł |
Valve sells directly through Steam in the US, Canada, UK, EU, and Australia. Its launch announcement names KOMODO for Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, with South Korea still coming soon. KOMODO pricing and purchase arrangements are regional; the Steam signup terms above should not be assumed to apply to those markets.
What is included, and what costs extra?
Both kits include the headset, Steam Frame Controllers, wireless adapter, and Half-Life: Alyx. The listed hardware difference is 256GB versus 1TB of UFS storage, and both support microSD expansion. Redeem Alyx through the headset's settings: Valve allows one redemption per device, with no extra copy for accounts that already own it. A power supply is not included.
Valve lists these accessories separately:
| Accessory | US price | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Power supply | $29 | 45W USB-C supply with a 2.5m cable |
| Ergonomic Accessories Kit | $59 | Two controller hand straps/battery doors, a headset top strap, and an extended light blocker |
| Accessory Replacement Kit | $49 | Face gasket, head cushion, and standard light blocker |
The launch announcement says these are checkout add-ons for customers with a purchase email. If you already have a Steam Deck charger or an equivalent 45W-or-higher USB-C charger, Valve says it can power Frame, so you may not need the separate supply.
The product page also lists compatible Arcturus Vision color-passthrough and Zenni prescription-lens accessories. These are separate products; color passthrough is not included in the base headset. See Steam Frame Specs for the hardware and streaming details.

What remains unknown
The October 9 update does not give the 2027 group a specific order month, set a date when every waitlisted customer will receive a reservation, or promise a delivery date. Valve has not published the launch allocation or individual selection odds. Your purchase invitation and regional fulfillment determine when an order can ship.

FAQ
Can I still join the Steam Frame waitlist?
Yes. Valve says new customers can still register on its waitlist through the Steam Frame product page, at the end of the applicable queue. The original randomized signup period closed September 17. Joining now does not give you an existing reservation holder's December 2026 or 2027 estimate.
When can I pay, and when will it arrive?
If you hold a reservation, sign in on Steam's Frame page to see your estimated order-email window: by December 2026 or in 2027. The 2027 group should get more detail by January 2027. You have 72 hours to pay after your purchase email arrives; check that invitation and checkout for shipping details. The estimate does not promise an arrival date.
Is a charger included?
No. Valve sells a 45W power supply separately for $29 in the US and says a Steam Deck charger or equivalent 45W-or-higher USB-C charger will work.
