Summary
Compare FPS targets, graphics presets, and resolutions for DOOM: The Dark Ages, Helldivers 2, Space Marine 2, Halo Infinite, and Wolfenstein II.
DOOM: The Dark Ages has the lowest reported FPS target median in this Steam Machine shortlist: 40, compared with 60 for the other four shooters. Wolfenstein II also differs from the rest, with the only 1440p output median.
These figures come from our October 16, 2026 review of public observations. The settings are independent medians, not one tested configuration per game. DOOM: The Dark Ages
Medium was the graphics median for DOOM: The Dark Ages, with a 1080p output median and 14 public observations in total. For this single-player campaign, the lower FPS target is a reason to pay attention to frame pacing as well as sharpness.
Before trying a 40 FPS cap, check your TV's available refresh modes and judge the pacing in motion.
Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 is our squad-session pick. It had 13 public observations, a High graphics median, and a 1080p output median. Mission context matters when assessing a result, particularly how much action was on screen. Keep connection trouble separate from rendering stutter when judging how a setup feels.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
For Space Marine 2, all three field medians matched Helldivers 2: a 60 FPS target, High graphics, and 1080p output. Its eight public observations formed a smaller evidence pool. Check which mode a report describes before using its configuration for your next session.
Halo Infinite
Halo Infinite multiplayer is free to play. The campaign is sold separately, so a Free label in the table applies to multiplayer.
Its Medium graphics median and 1080p output median came from a public pool of just two observations. Check their mode before relying on them: a multiplayer result cannot establish campaign performance, or vice versa.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
Our story-led alternative, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, had the group's highest output median at 1440p and its only Ultra graphics median. There were just two public observations. That small sample is why we would read the underlying results before choosing it on resolution or preset alone.
